Welcome to the Montana/Idaho Deaf-Blind Collaborative website. This website was designed to support the work of the Montana Deaf-Blind Project and the Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf-Blindness. In their respective states, these two projects are funded to support parents, service providers, and other agencies involved in the education of children and youth, birth through 21 years, with combined vision and hearing losses. The Montana Deaf-Blind Project is located at the Rural Institute at The University of Montana-Missoula. Individuals from birth through age 21 who are impacted by both vision and hearing loss are eligible for project services. Staff of the Montana Deaf-Blind Project partner with Outreach Consultants from the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind to provide information, technical assistance, and professional development to families and professionals who provide services to individuals who are deaf-blind.

Idaho landscape

The Idaho Project for Children and Youth with Deaf-Blindness is located at the Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho, Boise. The purpose of the Idaho Project is to enhance the education services provided to children and youth, birth through 21 years, with combined vision and hearing impairments. The Project provides statewide technical assistance to support parents, service providers, and other agencies in meeting the educational needs of children and youth who are deaf-blind.
